DIY Party Decor by Nicole

Our friend Nicole has put together an awesome photo tutorial on DIY Party Decor using the Pink Lemonade papers. This party looks like so much fun! Let's check it out and learn how to do it in Nicole's own words!

I thought it would be super fun to create a Pink Lemonade themed Party, DIY, using all the amazing stamps, dies, paper, stickers, and twine that Lawn Fawn has to offer. The Pink Lemonade Collection kit is not only perfect for this type of theme—it’s also perfect for any summer theme, too. In this tutorial I’ll share how I went about making an invitation, place card, cake pop tags, garland, water bottle labels, and a cute and simple mini treat bag.

The Invitation—I wanted to make a colorful and fun 5 x 7 inch invitation using some of my favorite Lawn Fawn alphabet stamps sets: Quinn’s Capital ABCs, Quinn’s ABCs, and Smitty’s ABCs. I think using different types of fonts on an invitation looks so cute, and I even used some of the grapefruit pink Narrators stickers that are included in the Pink Lemonade collection kit to spell out the birthday girl's name. So what I did first was cut a piece of white cardstock a bit smaller than a 5 x 7 size, in order to create a border once this panel is adhered to the base. Next, I used the stamp set, You’ve Got Mail, to create this adorable border around the edge of the white panel using my Hero Arts soft granite ink pad.

Next, I used the pennant stamp from the set, Blue Skies, to create the banner at the top of the invitation and I used the mini heart and star stamps from Plus One to fill them in. Once that was finished I grabbed my T-square and made a few horizontal lines across the panel using a pencil—so I could easily keep all the text perfectly straight. I stamped the, ‘Please join us at the’ text with Smitty’s ABCs in my Hero Arts Orange Soda ink. Next, I used Quinn's ABCs to stamp out the ‘Pink Lemonade Stand!’ text and filled those in with some color using my Copic makers.

After adding color to the letters, I went back to Smitty’s ABCs and stamped out the ‘To Celebrate’ with the Orange Soda ink again and used the stickers to spell out the name and age. I think the combination of stamping and stickers looks really nice. Lastly, I used Quinn's Captial ABCs to spell out ‘Birthday’, and I stamped that in a colored ink, too, because I wanted to leave that last sentiment open in order to have perfect balance with all the different types of font. Once all the party details were finished I went through my LF stash and decided to fill in all the gaps with the super cute stamps from the set Make Lemonade, and the retro star bursts from the set Let it Snow. When I finished filling in the gaps, I thought it would be cute to die cut a few hearts so that the base would not be completely lost behind the white panel, so I used the heart die cut from the Summertime Charm Lawn Cuts.

The Cakepop Tags—These were so much fun to make. I used some of the light yellow card stock from the collection kit, and the fortune cookie message die cut from the Good Fortune Lawn Cuts to create the tag. Next I used the coordinating stamps to create the sentiment. Since I knew I would be wrapping these tags around the lollipop stick I thought I’d do some selective stamping, and I only inked up the ‘have a happy birthday’ portion. I think it worked out well.

The Water Bottle Labels—I love the idea of making mismatched water bottle labels using a variety of patterns. The Pink Lemonade collection kit comes with so many beautiful and eye catching prints that you can’t help but want to use them all. To make these I simply measured the label that was already on the water bottle, cut a few pieces according to my measurements, and adhered them with a hot glue gun. Tip: Don’t forget to remove the stock label image from the water bottle so you can see the B-side of the pattern paper through the inside of the bottle.

The Garland—This is a cute yet super simple garland. I had some ivory colored twine on hand and I thought it would be fun to punch some 1” circles with my craft punch using the different pattern papers. Next I simply glued them to the twine and left about a 1 ½” gap between each circle. Garland is my favorite and making lots of garland for parties adds such a wonderful touch. Tip: I save all of my pattern paper left overs and I used a lot of them to create this garland. It looks so fun because the patterns are mismatched like the water bottle labels.

The Treat Bags—I created the treat bags using some cellophane packaging bags I had on hand. I measured the top of the treat bag and made a panel that fit perfectly. Next, I stapled it to the treat bag and I was finished!

Craftwell Blog Hop!

Today we are hopping along with our friends over at Craftwell! You should have arrived from Llama Tales, and you can always start the hop at the Craftwell blog!

I created this card using the Craftwell eBosser! I used our Admit One dies and Quinn's ABCs dies along with their coordinating Admit One and Quinn's ABCs stamp sets! This is a quick and easy card that is perfect for my Dad since he loves things to be clean and simple!

One of the things I love about the eBosser is the magnetic sheet that helps hold my dies in place. I also love the large format of the cutting mats. I was able to cut everything I needed for my card, and more!

The next stop on the hop is Jazmin's blog! Thank you for having us, Craftwell!
