you make my heart melt

I can't stop Moxie-Fabbing! I am totally into this old country thing! This time I decided to go for the folk art look. I think this rustic snowflake stamp from Paper Source is a perfect fit!
This might be my best white embossing job ever. Normally I get excess somewhere and have little white specks all around. Woo! Let's hope I keep this up :). Then I decided to use this sentiment for the pun again. Melting, snowflakes, etc. Cheesy, yes. Makes me smile, yes. :)
Card stock: Neenah Paper Environment (desert storm)
Stamps: Paper Source (rustic snowflake), Kim Hughes (heart warmers)
Ink: Versamark, Stampin' Up (wild wasabi)
Embossing powder: Whisper (sea foam white)
Buttons: Papertrey Ink (pure poppy)
Twine: Papertrey Ink (rustic cream)

it's Christmas time

So I did another version on this card below also for the 2S4Y challenge and for the Moxie Fab Christmas in the Old Country Challenge. As I said before, I love the Moxie challenge, but my old country is Cuba, so it is hard to relate! Let's hope I got it sort of right ;).
This time I went more literal with the sketch. I decided to get that "folk art" feel with my faux Basic Grey wall paper. I just had to use this fancy frame from Hambly. It is so cool!
This card is really busy compared to what I normally do, but it's really fun to step out of the box, and I do love the patterns of the Basic Grey paper! I did another pun again on this card because, well, I can't help it! haha! Thanks for looking at two clock cards, I hope I didn't make you too cuckoo! :)
Card stock: Neenah Paper Environment (desert storm), Recollections (light blue)
Patterned paper: Basic Grey (eskimo kisses), Hambly (frame wallpaper)
Stamps: A Muse (cuckoo clock), Technique Tuesday (start me up quincy), My Sentiment's Exactly (multi script)
Ink: Versamark, Stampin' Up! (wild wasabi, real red)
Glitter: Martha Stewart (crystal)
Punch: EK Success (embossed scallop)
Ribbon: out of a jar on my desk ;)
Embossing powder: Whisper (sea foam white)

Have an amazing day,

time for holiday cheer

This card is for the 2S4Y challenge and for the Moxie Fab Christmas in the Old Country Challenge. Now, I love the Moxie challenge, but my old country is Cuba, so it is hard to relate! So I really used her images as inspiration, and boy is there a lot of inspiration there! I love me some Moxie Fab! :)

I decided to use the cuckoo clock and do a punny Christmas greeting. I thought the felt was "old world" too. I just funked up the colors a little. The little candy border on the bottoms seems "old country" too. It's so cute! I did a different take on the 2S4Y challenge. Instead of having wavy card stock, I used a wavy sentiment with the "time for".

Now do you want to hear some INSANE? I do not own a "Merry Christmas" stamp. I have holiday cheer, jolly Christmas, peace, snowflakes, etc. but no "Merry Christmas"! What kind of crafter am I? This must be remedied!
Card stock: Neenah Paper Environment (desert storm)
Patterned paper: Basic Grey (eskimo kisses)
Stamps: A Muse (cuckoo clock), The Paper Studio (writer's type alpha), Kim Hughes (heart warmers)
Ink: Versamark, Stampin' Up (wild wasabi, real red)
Embossing powder: American Crafts Zing (rouge)
Ribbon: Michael's

I am participating in my very first Splitcoast Stampers challenge! This is the clean and simple challenge (CAS41), and we are supposed to use Vera Bradley bags as inspiration. This is the one I chose.

sending birthday wishes

Scroll down for today's other post :)
I made this card using this week's Sketchy Thursday sketch. Torendi is the sponsor this week! I also used the Hero Arts idea of "trimming" this week, but using scraps that I had around. I also used stamped images that I already had and punched with the square punch to give it a new look.
I am so in love with these decorative blossoms from Hero Arts. They are just so cool! I also used my My Mind's Eye inks that I got from Peachy Cheap. They are so pretty!
Oh, Cosmo Cricket Earth Love. I can't stop using you. I am starting to do faux stitching more, and it's making me want whatever pen Kristina Werner has because either her pen is way better than mine or she is magic. I think her being magic might be the likeliest explanation.
Card stock: Papertrey Ink (dark chocolate), Neenah Paper Environment (desert storm)
Patterned paper: Cosmo Cricket (earth love)
Stamps: Hero Arts (decorative blossoms), Papertrey Ink (everyday button bits)
Ink: My Mind's Eye (coastal and sundress ink swirly thingies), Distress Ink (broken china)
Pen: Ranger Inkssentials white opaque pen
Dies: Jen Allyson Project Cuts DigiKit at 2Peas (elegant card)
Tools: Quickutz Silhouette, Computer, Ranger Inking tool and foam
Punch: 1.25" EK Success square punch

Have an amazing day,

a classy circle card

Caardvarks is having a circular card challenge right now! How fun is that?! It is also my Grandmother's birthday, so I decided to go classy. She likes elegant things, so I put away my woodland creatures and pulled out some My Mind's Eye.
I actually got inspired to use the My Mind's Eye while looking through the Quiltish etsy shop on Etsy Inspired this week. The flowers on this bag totally reminded me of the flowers in this set. Yay! That purse is so cute!
Card stock: Neenah Paper Classic Crest (natural white)
Patterned paper: My Mind's Eye (Andreavictoria Paper and Accessories kit)
Flower: My Mind's Eye (Andreavictoria Paper and Accessories kit)
Ribbon: I don't know!
Dies: Spellbinders Nestabilities (circles, scalloped circles)

There's an EbtKS BLOG!!!! :) AND A PRIZE!! :)

That's right! We got out our moving vans, stopped renting, and got ourselves a permanent location at: http://ebtkschallenge.blogspot.com, and there are some pretty exciting things going on! We have added a sketch challenge to EbtKS! So how it will work is on the 30th of the month we will have the item challenge, and on the 15th of the month we will have a sketch challenge. Now the cool thing is that the sketch will be based on things from the home! So first off we have the lovely Courtney's mantle as inspiration:

How cool is this sketch?! Want to know what is even cooler?! There is a $25 gift certificate to 2Peas as a prize!!! So what are you waiting for? Get on over to out new home and play along! While you are at it, you should grab our little button too!
Now here is my interpretation of the sketch:
As you can tell, I still can't get over the cuteness of nutmeg! The punched out circles are from the mini deck.
The tag is from the sticker sheet in the crafting kit. I threaded some ribbon through it and stapled it. Then adhered it with foam adhesive. Fun and simple!

So please come check out the new Everything but the Kitchen Sink Challenge blog, add it to your reader, and play along with our first sketch challenge! We can't wait to see what you come up with, and this time there is no toilet paper, I promise! haha! :)

wishing you rainbows

Happy weekend everyone!! This is a quick little card. It's 2 3/4 square which is a really cute size for a gift or just a little note for someone. I colored and out out the rainbow and adhered it with foam adhesive for a little dimension. At first I wasn't sure if I liked this card, but now I really like the simplicity of it :).

You guys always warm my heart with your wonderful comments. Seriously, they always make my day! Well, the last blog post just made me even more glad that I am in this crafty community. You guys are brilliant! You gave me some great ideas in how to deal with that looooong card. Here are some of them:

So sweet! I love that phrase, it is very inspiring. You know, you could probably wrap one of those giant Toblerone (triangle shaped bars- my spelling may be wrong :( ) in this card and really make someone's day! Too cute.

That is super cute! Love the hanging tag.

Adorable.

I've fallen in love with CC titles too and I always cut them into pieces.

those who wish to sing always find a song

So this is the longest card ever. It's 12 inches x 2 inches! The reason I did this is because I fell in love with this quote from the Cosmo Cricket Element paper in the crafting kit. I don't scrapbook, but I really wanted to make a card from it, so I decided to make the longest card ever! haha!
I took this little bird sticker and backed it with with some PTI card stock that matched the font color just to tie all together. I wrapped some rustic twine around three times and tied a bow and tada! Just love this quote! Way to go Cosmo Cricket. Nutmeg rocks my socks. :)
Card stock: Papertrey Ink (aqua mist)
Patterned paper: Cosmo Cricket (nutmeg)
