It's My Cute Stamps Tuesday! Woo! I went a completely different direction from my usual and decided to use the gorgeous My Cute Stamp set Celebrate Today. I just love the images in this set and it's wonderful sentiment.
I also decided to play along with Embellish Magazine's Polka Dot Paradise Color Challenge. How absolutely gorgeous are these colors? Oooh, I just love them! Embellish is having a pub call right now. You all should go check it out!
So, sweetie pie Tiff at i heart art made these AMAZING fabric cards, and I just had to try it. So I drove really far to Joann's and picked up some fabric pieces and some Mod Podge. How awesome is the font on the Mod Podge bottle? Hey, Mod Podge people! Make it a font we can buy! :) Anyways, back to my flower. First I stamped the flower image from Celebrate Today on the fabric. Then, I cut a piece of card stock, covered it and myself with Mod Podge, put the fabric on it, covered it with more Mod Podge, heat set it, burned my finger, then let it dry naturally. After it dried I cut around the stamped flower image. I absolutely love the look. So much texture and yet so delicate.
I also came up for a cure for wrinkled ribbon with this card. Now I will preface this with the fact that I don't iron. I haven't since 1998. I realize that that could be a solution, but you know how I am with the heat gun ... So, I decided to tie a bunch of knots in the ribbon. I think it looks really neat-o!
I added some clear heat embossed wood grain texture to the card to make it not so girly. I, of course, added the polka dots (also heat embossed) on the card base, and with liquid pearls to the center of the flower.I really had a blast with this challenge and with using the Celebrate Today set. I can't wait to use it again!
