Leave a light on for Santa 'cause it's Summer CHA!

DSC_0103
Hello! I had such a fun time today at CHA! I was seeing so much Holiday product, that I had to post this card that I made a while back! I used How Delightful and clear heat embossed the shade, cut it out and adhered it to the stamped lamp. I wanted it to look like an old timey lamp :). I really like the wonkyness of the card. It makes me smile!

Okay, speaky of wonky, my camera was being all crazy and diva like today at CHA, so I only got a few photos, but I still hope you enjoy them. I put them up at my Flickr here. It's hard to pick a favorite, but I just love American Crafts. They are my happy place! All of their new lines are fabulous! I also just adore Elizabeth Kartchner. She is just the sweetest! I also just love Grant at American Crafts too. They are just so nice! I hope I can take some pics tomorrow or Thursday of their new product!

Okay, I am off to bed! Tomorrow I FINALLY get to meet Lynnette in person. I am so excited! We have been blog buds for so long! Yay!

Hugs to you all!

Letterbox Lovely

DSC_0026
I just love the American Crafts Letterbox line, don't you? It's just so pretty! I love pairing it with Sew Lovely. I actually hadn't used Sew Lovely for a while (for shame!), when I started making this card as a sample for our first Malaysian store! I am so excited about that!

The Copic class was fun today! Mike keeps joking with me that I am now certified in coloring. Haha! :) Tomorrow I will be at the trade show walking around, going to some meetings, and hopefully meeting some of you!

I hope you guys have a wonderful Tuesday! Hugs!

2 sketches 4 you 57: Hi!

DSC_0157
Hi! Welcome to 2 Sketches 4 You day! I hope you guys are all doing well! I am writing you from Chicago! Wooo! I have been here a few days early visiting my parents and my grandmother, who is also visiting from Miami! It's been fun and crazy, and so was making this card! I thought my Mom had a paper trimmer, yeah, she doesn't! Haha! This card was made with a box cutter and a ruler. It was quite the adventure! Our sponsor this week is My Favorite Things and this is one of their fun digi stamps that I colored with Copics. I just love those dogs!

How fun is this sketch by Laura?! LOVE it! Oh, how I wish I had a punch for that white heart area! You guys are going to rock this! :)
DSC_0164
I had to get creative with my ribbon and I round some bright yellow rafia with my Mom's wrapping paper. I distressed it with antique linen ink and a foam pad and it really gave it a cool color! I separated it out to get the fun bow shape. I made the background using Judy's Blooms, Versamark, Copics and more antique linen.

Head on over to the 2 Sketches 4 You blog and play along with us! We can't wait to see what you create!

CHA, Fun teaser for August, Whales, Beach Balls, and Mr. Lawn Fawn

Hi everyone! I have so much to go through in this post!
First thing first, did you sign up for the Lawn Fawn Hearts Cards for Kids blog hop yet? Click here to get all of the details!

Next up, I am leaving for CHA! I am heading to Chicago early to spend time with my parents there. It should be a blast! I am also taking the Copic certification class on Monday. I cannot wait for CHA. I really hope that I get to meet lots of you! I am horrible with faces so please yell at me. As for finding me, I'm 5'8". That seemed to help at the last one! I am going to be taking LOTS of pics! I am going to post them to Flickr and link to that from here. I hope you guys will enjoy that!

Now, even though I am gone, Lawn Fawn is still shipping orders! My wonderful hubby and Lawn Fawn partner, Mike, will be sending orders! Get ready for thank you notes from Mr. Lawn Fawn himself. Hehe! :)

Next, I have a super fun teaser for you! Something really exciting is happening August 1st and it has to do with how much Lawn Fawn loves Cup Cards To Go, and this is just a sneaky little peek:

Do you see what I see? ;) Keep your eyes on the Cup Cards To Go blog for more sneaks and details! :)

And, finally, a fun card!
DSC_0044
Critters in the Sea and Swimsuit Season are really fun together! My whale is an October Afternoon whale because he's classy like that. Even though he is classy and fancy he loves beach balls, but only bejeweled ones. Hehe. (Can you tell I am lacking sleep?) I curved the sentiment on my block. Don't you just love that you can do that with clear stamps?!

DSC_0048
I made an ocean of ribbon using my Tiny Attacher. I just hid the staples in the pleats! It was actually really easy and fun to do and I only almost stapled my hand to the card once. That's a score one for Kelly in my book :).

Hugs to you all. I will be blogging from Chicago! Let me know what you want to see! :)

keep cool

DSC_0016
Hello everyone! I just had to make this card because it got HOT here in Orange County. Woooweeee. Is it bad that my mouth actually waters looking at that lemonade glass? Hehe! This card was made with Swimsuit Season. I think it would be great for a fun note for someone in the summer time, or even as a tag or note on a gift basket for a neighbor with keep cool things like lemonade mix, watermelon, etc!

DSC_0019
I had fun using my copics with this, and I used glossy accents (I can't put it down) on the ice cubes to make them look more icy!

Sometimes people ask me why I make weird shaped cards: Well, when I have left over larger scraps, I just scor it down the middle and make a card! It's fun and makes me have to think outside the box sometimes, especially when the shapes are super skinny, etc! I think it's a fun way to use scraps, and I love anything that is mini! :)
Card stock: Papertrey Ink (Hawaiian shores), Neenah Paper (solar white)
Stamps: Lawn Fawn (swimsuit season)
Ink: Memento (tuxedo black)
Etc: Copics, Glossy accents

Paper Crafts Magazine Presents: A Card Style Mystery Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Card Style Mystery Blog Hop! This is a super fun hop put on by the fine folks at Paper Crafts Magazine to celebrate their super sweet new issue, "Card Style". Make sure you keep on scrolling through this post because there are prizes to be won! :)
DSC_0007
This magazine is super fab, you can even purchase it online! A bunch of us were asked to make cards in our go-to-style for the magazine. Mine (in case you didn't already know, hehe) is fun and cute! Making cards for this publication was so fun! It was like a license to create fun and happy non stop! The other thing that was cool was that we were asked to make specific cards, for example, one of mine was "thinking of you". It really helped me broaden my go to style by creating for events I might not normally create for.

DSC_0028
Fun and cute is my go to style because crafting is my happy place, and, well, I want my happy place to be filled with happy! I also really love puns and making inanimate objects, animate, clearly! Pool floatie and beach ball in love? Sure! Why not?! Fun and cute is a world where all reality can be suspended and imagination takes over. What could be more awesome than that? :)

DSC_0008
I had so much fun making this card. I love these cute Pebbles and American Crafts papers! I used Lawn Fawn's Swimsuit Season, Partly Cloudy and Harold's ABCs sets with Copics for lots of bright fun and a custom silly sentiment. Glossy accents on the punched out heart was the perfect touch. Glossy Accents makes anything look like a custom fancy embellishment! Also, want to make something in the fun and cute style? Add a smiley face. It always does the trick :).

Let's talk prizes! There is a mega prize pack (it's crazy awesome!) to be won. How to do it: Make sure to leave comments on all 18 mystery blogs and on the Paper Crafts Connection blog and Moxie Fab World blog. That is a total of 20 chances to win and 3 winners will be chosen! You can check out the Paper Crafts Connection and Moxie Fab World blogs to see the prizes. All comments must be posted by Sunday, July 18th and winners will be announced on Tuesday, July 20th at the PC Connection and Moxie Fab blogs. So make sure to hop along to the next mystery blog by clicking on this Card Style logo here:.

Thank you so much for hopping along today! And thank you to Paper Crafts for this wonderful opportunity! Hugs to you all!

Everything but the Kitchen Sink Challenge #19

DSC_0001
Welcome to another Everything but the Kitchen Sink challenge! We have the most amazing sponsor: Cupcards To Go! YAY! They are giving away a mini kit to our winner.

Our hostess with the mostess is Lynnette this time and she has come up with such a cool sketch based off this beautiful framed verse! I am already to try the sketch again!

DSC_0008
I used Cupcards To Go's July kit, "Jubilee", to make this card. The kit is so full of fun and happy colors! I stamped the large flower from Judy's Blooms on to two of the patterned papers from the kit and cut them out and layered them. Then I put this awesome flower from the kit on top of that. I am so in love with the crepe paper that Sonda included in the kit! So much texture!

Make sure to go check out CupCards To Go and play along with us at EbtKS for a chance to win some of these fabulous goodies!
Stamps: Lawn Fawn (Judy's Blooms, Just My Type, Too)
Ink: Ranger Adirondack (espresso)

I love cake. :)

DSC_0033
Is it weird that I am too lazy to bake a cake but am totally willing to go *stamp* a cake? Hehe! Here is a Bake Me A Cake card using Torendi's Paris in Bloom kit. I am so in love with these Sassafras papers and that awesome Sassafras flower!
DSC_0053
I went paper piecing crazy! The cool thing is all of these patterns were on one sheet. If you ever get really busy patterned paper and aren't sure what to do with it, paper piecing smaller images could be a good idea! Also cutting out images for embellishments is fun too! :)

DSC_0025
The banner stickers from Sassafras are awesome, and I haven't run out yet! A full size sheet comes in the Paris in Bloom kit! I love that!

I hope you enjoyed baking a funky cake with me! Hehe! Have a great day!
