Fawny Flickr Friday {4.29.11} + something very extra special!

Hello!! It's Fawny Flickr Friday! We love seeing all of the cards popping up in the Lawn Fawn Flickr group. Make sure you keep adding your projects! You guys are so amazing!!

Today is extra special and we picked *pink* cards for the occasion.

Why pink? Well, Lawn Fawn is going to be donating 20% of profits from May 1st to May 7th to a cause near and dear to our hearts, the Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization.
I lost my beloved grandmother to this disease and my mom is a two time SURVIVOR. Super hero is more like it, actually.
Why Y-ME?
We all really believe in what Y-ME does for women with breast cancer today at Lawn Fawn. This week isn't just about donating but also raising awareness about what Y-ME can provide and reminders to go to checkups and do self exams. These things are so important!

Here is a blurb from Y-ME's site:
At the heart of Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization™ is the YourShoes® 24/7 Breast Cancer Support Center, the only place in the world where someone can call – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year – and talk to a breast cancer survivor and be understood in 150 languages.
Peer support is the cornerstone of Y-ME. We are survivors who have been in "YourShoes" and are here day and night. We cry with you; we laugh with you; we help you figure out what questions to ask your doctor; we can give you a wig or prosthesis. We provide breast cancer support today.
Call 1-800-221-2141 to reach the YourShoes® 24/7 Breast Cancer Support Center.
We are needed now more than ever. Despite advances in breast cancer research and treatment, there is still no substitute for talking to someone who’s been in ‘your shoes’ after a doctor tells you that you have cancer.
Briefly known as Breast Cancer Network of Strength®, Y-ME is a Chicago-based national nonprofit founded in 1978 with the mission to ensure, through information, empowerment and peer support, that no one faces breast cancer alone.

Isn't this absolutely amazing? Never facing breast cancer alone. We love what Y-ME stands for, so help us help them, and make purchases at www.lawnfawn.com from May 1st to May 7th as we lead up to Mother's Day. We can't wait to give to this wonderful cause!

Now, let's be inspired by some amazing pink cards!

smile

Hello and happy Tuesday! Today I have a quick and simple card made from one of Tiffany Johnson's sketches! They are so fabulous and really helped me jump start my creativity after a long weekend away from crafting!

DSC_0095
I used some American Crafts Peachy Keen paper mixed with some Dear Lizzy Spring embellishments. They work so perfectly together!

I stamped out "smile" using Smitty's ABCs in a matching color to customize this fun Dear Lizzy embellishment. I love adding the Lawn Fawn spin on it! Adding punched out sentiments to other embellishments could be a really great way to make them work for different projects. I can wait to try this more! :)

Card stock: Neenah
Patterned Paper: American Crafts (peachy keen)
Stamps: Lawn Fawn (smitty's abcs)
Ink: Versamagic
Etc: American Crafts Dear lizzy embellishment and ribbon, Tiny Attacher, EK Success label punch, Corner Chomper

layout + card + video {4.21.11}

Hello! Today I have a layout, then a card made with what was left on my desk after the layout, and a video of that card! I made doilies out of Frosties snowflakes. I'm just a little too excited about it! Haha!

DSC_0091
Here's my layout! Now that it is getting warmer out we like going on walks as the sun goes down! It's so nice to walk around the parks and hills with my hubby and dog. We just love it! I made this page using Studio Calico's Singin' in the Rain kit (which just happens to be the name of my favorite movie!), and also using a sketch from Kelly Purkey's Sketchbook class which is fabulous!

DSC_0106
I made these fun little doily accents using snowflakes from Frosties and circle punches! I love how they came out! How fun are those Crate Paper buttons, too?

DSC_0100
This is the most photos I have ever put on a layout! It was fun to size them down and get to pick so many! I also had a blast cutting that banner out of some fabulous American Crafts Hello Sunshine paper.

DSC_0103
Fanciful Frames made the perfect journaling spot! I paper pieced the frame and the center, and adding white gel pen to the doodles in the frame. Say Cheese, Too provided my date! The journaling reads: "We finally took a work break and went for a walk on a gorgeous night. Taking photos and running around with Putter is a blast! We love neighborhood filled with parks! (We made tacos afterward. Yum!)"

After I made my layout I had a disaster on my desk filled with goodies! I decided to make a card! Here is the video for that card! It includes how to make those little doily accents! You can watch it here or at our YouTube channel!

Thanks so much for watching!

Here is the final card!

I used kit goodies and Teeny Tiny Backdrops for the base of my card.
